Christie Horan
OWNER & HEAD CHOREOGRAPHER
@christiehoran
Christie Horan is the proud Owner and Choreographer of Powerhouse Danceworks, LLC. Christie has always loved choreographing since she was a young dancer. She started choreographing professionally when her college dance team coach and mentor, Dawn Walters, inspired her to take her first choreography job in 2013. Christie's passion for choreography continued to grow and, in 2015, Powerhouse Danceworks came to life.
Powerhouse Danceworks prides itself on innovative choreography, hands-on technique and skill drills, and positive team building exercises taught by talented and enthusiastic dance choreographers. Christie travels across the country to choreograph routines for middle schools, high schools, colleges and pro teams. She loves inspiring performance showmanship and developing the skills of passionate dancers.
Christie is currently in her first year as Head Coach of the NFL Washington Commanders’ Command Force.
Christie danced for six years on the NBA Washington Wizards Dance Team where she was the Team Captain in 2019-2020, Choreography Captain in 2018-2019, and Co-Captain in 2017-2018. She has also had the honor of traveling around the world with the Washington Wizards dance teams to London, England (2019), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2016), Chengdu, China (2017), Las Vegas, NV and Atlanta, GA. During her tenure on the Washington Wizards dance team, she earned the Choreography Award (2019), Rookie of the Year (2015) and Performer of the Year (2016, 2017 & 2018) awards during her tenure on the Wizards.
