@christiehoran

Christie Horan is the proud Owner and Choreographer of Powerhouse Danceworks, LLC. Christie has always loved choreographing since she was a young dancer. She started choreographing professionally when her college dance team coach and mentor, Dawn Walters, inspired her to take her first choreography job in 2013. Christie's passion for choreography continued to grow and, in 2015, Powerhouse Danceworks came to life.

Powerhouse Danceworks prides itself on innovative choreography, hands-on technique and skill drills, and positive team building exercises taught by talented and enthusiastic dance choreographers. Christie travels across the country to choreograph routines for middle schools, high schools, colleges and pro teams. She loves inspiring performance showmanship and developing the skills of passionate dancers.

Christie is currently in her first year as Head Coach of the NFL Washington Commanders’ Command Force.

Christie danced for six years on the NBA Washington Wizards Dance Team where she was the Team Captain in 2019-2020, Choreography Captain in 2018-2019, and Co-Captain in 2017-2018. The Wizards Dancers have performed five in-game routines choreographed by Christie during the Wizards’ seasons. She also coached the Kids Dance Teams for the NBA Washington Wiz Kids and the WNBA Washington Mystics Mayhem (2015-2019). She has also had the honor of traveling around the world with the Washington Wizards dance teams to London, England (2019), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2016), Chengdu, China (2017), Las Vegas, NV and Atlanta, GA. During her tenure on the Washington Wizards dance team, she earned the Choreography Award (2019), Rookie of the Year (2015) and Performer of the Year (2016, 2017 & 2018) awards during her tenure on the Wizards.

Christie graduated with honors from the University of Kentucky in 2014 with a dual degree in Business Marketing and Communications. She danced on the UK Dance Team for four years, competed in Hip Hop and Pom at UDA College Nationals, and led the team as captain her senior year. She traveled to China with UKDT in 2013 for a USA Basketball league tour. Throughout her four years on UKDT, Christie earned the Dancer of the Year, Coaches Award, and MVP Awards. Christie is proud to continue to return to her alma mater to choreography UKDT Game Day nationals routines and the audition piece each year — her UKDT 2020 UDA Game Day Routine earned 2nd in the Nation!
